Simple Chicken Noodle Soup
Chicken noodle soup soothes our bodies and souls. In the midst of a pandemic, flu season, and cold weather it is the perfect comfort food. This super easy recipe for chicken noodle soup will have everyone feeling better.
I created this easy recipe when my husband had Covid19. We try to eat homemade/natural foods as much as possible so I wanted to make a homemade soup.

We tend to be sensitive to preservatives so we try to avoid canned and processed meats or foods whenever possible.
You can prepare this chicken noodle soup with the confidence that you know exactly what you are serving your loved ones.
The leftovers are yummy, too!
Pantry staples are all you need for this simple soup.
- Boneless, skinless chicken
- Chicken broth
- Salt (I like to use Kosher but regular works fine.)
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Poultry Seasoning
- Celery Seed or Salt
- Fresh Carrots
- Fresh Celery
- Egg noodles



Simple Chicken Noodle Soup
This easy chicken noodle soup can be prepared on the stove or in a slow cooker. Iโve made it both ways. The slow cooker takes less supervision so itโs my favorite way.
The steps are the same in both methods just the cooking time is different. The recipe below gives instructions for each method.
Step 1:
Place your chicken in the pot, add the broth, then add enough water to cover the chicken. Add the spices and cook until it easily shreds.
You can remove the chicken to shred it, just be sure to keep all the wonderful broth.



Step 2:



Add the chopped vegetables to the chicken and broth.
Cook about 7 minutes.
Step 3:
Add the egg noodles, cook 7 minutes.
Done! Simple!ย
Serve with crackers and devour!

Simple Chicken Noodle Soup
Equipment
- Large pot or slow cooker
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless chicken
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp Kosher salt or regular salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp celery salt
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 2 cups egg noodles
Instructions
- Place chicken in large pot, add broth and enough water to cover.
- Bring to a boil and boil until chicken easily shreds. About 45 minutes.
- Reduce heat to simmer.
- Shred chicken and return to pot.
- Add carrots and celery. Simmer until vegetables become tender. About 8-10 minutes.
- Increase heat and bring to a boil.
- Add noodles and cook 7 minutes or until noodles are done.
Slow Cooker method
- Place chicken and broth in slow cooker, add water to cover.
- Cook on high 3 hours or until chicken easily shreds.
- Add carrots and celery. Cook 10 minutes.
- Add noodles and cook until done, about 10 minutes.
